We're a counter on SE Foster, between 51st and 52nd. About twenty seats inside, a few stools at the window, a small patio out back when the weather behaves. We don't take reservations — walk in, order at the counter, find a seat.

Driving
Street parking on SE Foster runs free, two-hour limit during the day. Side streets (52nd, Holgate) usually have something open within a block. The corner lot is for the salon next door — don't park there.
Transit
The 14 bus stops at SE Foster & 52nd, two minutes from the door. The Green and Orange MAX lines connect to the 14 at Powell Garage. Bike racks out front.
In the room
Twenty seats, a window bar with stools, a patio out back. The bathroom is in the back left, past the cooler. We allow dogs on the patio when it's open. Wifi password is on the wall.

Who runs this place
Anders & Maren Halverson
Anders runs the bake. Maren runs the line. They opened the Foster shop in 2024 after two years of selling out of a shared bakery on Hawthorne. They live around the corner.
Halverson started in 2022 as a Wednesday-only operation out of a shared bakery on Hawthorne — twelve loaves, twelve sandwiches, sold by 1pm. The Foster shop opened in 2024. The bread is the same as it ever was: three doughs, one starter, started Sunday. The number chalked on the door is how many sandwiches we have left.
